Almost no one knows anything about the current life of the once very popular actress of Georgian comedy "Tojinebi itsinian," Megi Kejeradze.

As it turned out, Megi Kejeradze was very popular in Azerbaijan. She starred in the film "The Last Night of Childhood," which is considered the pearl of Azerbaijani cinema, and became a star of Azerbaijani cinema. Megi Kejeradze is still referred to as "Elya" in Baku.

"Elya" has been searched for years by Baku journalists and her partners from the film, but in vain, her whereabouts were unknown to people related to Georgian culture.

After a long search, her location was traced by Azerbaijani journalists. As it turned out, today, she teaches English to students and tries to be less publicized to the general public.

She says she never wanted to be an actor and only became popular because of a happy occasion. She admits that her appearance played a crucial role when she was first approved for the film and had to work with amazing actors.

"Tojinebi itsinian" became the best start for her next film - Megi Kejeradze was confirmed for the main role in the Azerbaijani film.

To this day, she is referred to by the Baku people as "Elya," who has become a symbol of beauty and grace in Azerbaijan. Many of them still do not doubt that she is Azerbaijani.

"When "Last Night of Childhood" came out on the screens, I became very popular, I was invited everywhere, I no longer knew which invitation I refused. The period spent in Baku is the best time in my life," Megi Kejeradze recalled in an interview with journalist Jamila Babaeva.

According to her, they wanted to shoot her in two more films, but then it did not happen.

"I made many friends during my stay in Baku. I loved all Azerbaijanis very much. I would visit often. My friends from Baku also often visited Tbilisi. Azerbaijanis are very native and precious to me. They are extraordinarily good, kind people and that is not only my opinion. Among my students are Azerbaijanis living in Georgia. Some of them know me as an actor. I always speak with gratitude about Azerbaijanis. I am glad that I was not forgotten," Megi Kejeradze said in an interview with report.az.

The long-awaited interview with "Elya" was published in Baku today.
