A competition has been announced for the reconstruction of the Colosseum in Italy. The value of the contract will be 18.5 million euros. The arena will become a platform for cultural events.
The winner of the competition will be announced before February 1. The construction is scheduled to begin by the end of 2021.
Colosseum opened in AD 80. Gladiator battles took place in the arena. Later, the building became a fortress. Now the Colosseum is a museum visited by 5 million tourists every year.
