Internationally famous Georgian opera singer Lado Ataneli's jubilee concert has been held in Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre. Georgian opera singers Nino Surguladze, Marika Machitadze, Khatuna Chokonelidze and other artists participated in the concert.
Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto and Macbeth was also performed at the event.
In 1989, Lado Ataneli debuted as Renato in Un Ballo in maschera at the Tiflis National Theater. In 1991, he won First Prize and the Grand Prix at the International Francisco-Vinas Competition in Barcelona. His significance for the Georgian opera scene was also been recognised with the Shota Rustaveli State Prize and the Order of Brilliance bestowed on the singer in 2011 and 2012 respectively. Ataneli was also distinguished with the title of the Honourary Citizen of Tbilisi in 2017, with a star in his name unveiled outside the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre.
