Famous film director Otar Ioseliani handed over electronic versions of his films to the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.

According to the National Archives, 21 high-quality digital copies (DCP format) of 21 documentaries and feature films shot in Georgia and France between 1950 and 2015 have become part of the Georgian National Archives Fund. The films were scanned and digitally restored in France.

Among the films are: "Falling Leaves," "Once Upon a Time There Was a Singing Blackbird," "Pastorale," "Georgian Ancient Songs," "Favorites of the Moon," "Gardens in Autumn," "Chasing Butterflies" and others.

According to the National Archives, the archive holds more than 36,000 movies, as well as digital versions. Among them is the oldest film story shot in Tbilisi in 1909 and the first Georgian full-length chronicle-documentary film "Akaki Tsereteli's Journey to Racha-Lechkhumi" dated 1912. The National Archives systematically digitizes films on 4k movie scanners and, if necessary, digitally restores them.
