The artist's tragedy under the ''red regime'' yoke _ this is a leitmotiv of the U.S.-based successful Georgian pianist's novel Red Keys, which was issued by the Intelect Publishing House. Since 2013, pianist Guga Chkhikvadze has served as a professor at Palm Beach State College. He says that  ''Red Keys'' was inspired by the story of his great grandfathers who were resettled in the 1930s. The story aims at reminding people of the wickedness of the Soviet Union empire.

"Both my great grandfathers were resettled in the 1930s. They told various real stories to us. Did you know, for example, that lots of people were shot near Vake park? Lots of people are not aware of this,'' Chkhikvadze said.

Mr. Chkhikvadze was admitted to the Interlochen Arts Academy and granted a full scholarship in 2000.

''Life was difficult in Georgia back then. No electricity, water, or heating. I, as a teenager, went to America in search of a better life,'' this is how the successful pianist remembers the beginning of his career.

The pandemic has not changed Guga Chkhikvadze's plans, but as he says, more free time enabled him to write another novel.

''Hopefully, I will publish my new novel in the near future. I also plan to remake the ''Red Keys'' into the film's plot together with writer Shalva Sikharulidze. Generally, I have lots of plans. One of my latest plans is to record compositions by Alexander Scriabin. I want to learn some of the compositions by Bach and hold a concert in Georgia,'' the pianist said.

Report News Agency will soon offer you a video interview with the successful Georgian pianist.
