Tea Tsulukiani paid a working visit to Mestia, Ushguli, and several villages of Upper Svaneti.
The Minister visited Svaneti together with Sozar Subari, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Regional Policy and Self-Government, Viktor Japaridze, Majoritarian MP of Mestia, Mestia Municipality Mayor Capiton Zhorzholiani, Architect-Restorer Tariel Kiparoidze, and representatives of the Ministry.
In the small town of Mestia, the guests visited the rehabilitated monuments and those that need rehabilitation. The Minister also visited Ushguli together with the accompanying persons and got acquainted with the condition of the cultural heritage monuments included in the UNESCO list and the challenges facing the population.
"We had the opportunity to meet not only the authors, masters, and builders of various projects, but also the population, and reached agreements with Lagham (Mestia), Mulakh, Khalde, and all four villages of Ushguli. From August, we will take steps to eliminate the complex problems related to the protection of cultural heritage in these settlements step by step," said Tea Tsulukiani.
