As of September 10, as part of "Vintage-2020" in the Kakheti region, 16,000 tonnes of grapes of various varieties were processed:
Rkatsiteli,
Saperavi,
Kakheti Mtsvane,
Others.
As the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia reports, at this stage, 200 companies producing wine are registered in the grape harvest's coordination headquarters.
Forty-five enterprises are already involved in the grape processing process.
Earlier, the Georgian government decided to subsidize the Rkatsiteli and Kakheti Mtsvane grape varieties.
The subsidies will be received by wine companies that will purchase and process at least 1,000 tonnes of Rkatsiteli or Kakheti Mtsvane grapes.
At the same time, wine companies have a fixed purchase price of at least 80 tetri per kilogram. The state subsidy will amount to 30 tetri per kilogram.
