Irakli Kovzanadze, the Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee has met with Jan Bittner, Head of the Economics and Law Department of the German Embassy in Georgia. At the meeting held at the initiation of the Embassy, 2020 state budget priorities were discussed.

The Head of the Economics and Law Department of the German Embassy provided Mr. Bittner with state budget project priorities. According to him, the process is still in progress, with the final version of 2020 budget project panned to be submitted to the legislative body next week.  

As per Mr. Kovzanadze, the draft law includes all parameters required for economic stability, with GDP planned to be increased by 5%, the budget deficit maintained at 2.7% and pensions and salaries intended to be increased. Also, in 2020, fourteen billion two hundred twelve million is set to be spent with this exceeding by 800,000,000 GEL compared to the amount spent in 2019.
