"Bidzina Ivanishvili is a successful businessman who has created and accumulated wealth for years," Chairperson of the Parliament Archil Talakvadze responded to the Bloomberg article on Ivanishvili's property.
In his statement, Talakvadze stresses that different rumors fly, and people like to speculate about assets owned by the Georgian tycoon. However, in his words, these speculations are far from the truth. "We must rely on the international ratings. Bidzina Ivanishvili is a successful businessman who has created and accumulated wealth for years. Also, for years, he has invested a colossal amount of money in the development of his country, Georgia. It is sheer truth. Getting three billion USD from Georgia is unimaginable. However, Ivanishvili has spent more than three billion for Georgia," Talakvadze declared.
Bloomberg has published the Billionaire Index 2019, according to which Bidzina Ivanishvili's property has increased by 525 million USD.
Bidzina Ivanishvili is ranked 371st among the world's 500 billionaires in 2019.
His property is 5,52 billion USD at the moment, while last year it was 4, 95 billion USD.
Ivanishvili is the only billionaire from Georgia.
The Bloomberg Index says Ivanishvili's property was highest in 2013, reaching 6,40 billion USD.
