As reported by the National Statistics Office of Georgia, the volume of the business sector turnover increased by 13,5% and reached 26 bln GEL in the first quarter of 2020.
The business sector production rate also tends to increase. In particular, its volume equaled 10.3 bln GEL in the first quarter of 2020, exceeding the 2019 first-quarter rate by 8,4%.
A total of 60% of the turnover belongs to large businesses, 16,6% - to average and 23,4% - small businesses.
The average number of employees equaled 684.4 thousand in the first quarter of 2020.
The rate exceeds the 2019 first-quarter data by 3,1%.
41,8% of the employees are women, while the rest are men.
