A new natural gas supply contract has been signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey, the Azerbaijani media reports.
According to Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez, an additional natural gas trade agreement of 11 billion cubic meters to run through Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan until the end of 2024 has been agreed upon between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Donmez said that the deal had made progress in securing additional natural gas supply for the country.
“Negotiations to meet natural gas demand, which may increase as winter approaches, are progressing positively. The government of the gas exporting countries said that the supply of blue fuel to Turkey would increase. As part of these measures, we have signed an agreement with Azerbaijan on the additional gas supply through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline until 2024. We are talking about 11 billion cubic meters,” the Minister said.
