According to the National Bank March review, the GEL depreciated against the USD by 0.8% on average, while in late March, USD 1 cost GEL 3.4118 and EUR 1 GEL 4.0044.
''Over the month, a maximum deviation from the average rate was 2.3% and 0.5% was a minimum,'' according to the review.
On the international currency market, the USD has reportedly strengthened against the EUR by 1.5% on average, 0.8% against the Armenian Dram, 2.8% against the Turkish Lira, has almost remained unchanged against Azerbaijani Manat, and has strengthened against the Russian currency by 0.1%.
''Annual inflation in Georgia has surpassed 7.2%; in Turkey, it has stood at 16.2%, 8.5% in Belarus and Ukraine, 5.8% in Russia and Armenia, 4.1% in Azerbaijan, 2.6% in the US, and 1.3% in the Eurozone,'' the review reads.
