In the first half of 2020, the top three importers of fuel to Georgia were Russia, Romania, Azerbaijan, the Union of Oil Importers of Georgia reports.

In January-June 2020, the most massive petrol and diesel fuel imports to Georgia came from Russia - 176.0 thousand tons. It is 35.3% of total imports.

In the reporting period, 18.1% of the total fuel was imported from Romania, and 17.8% from Azerbaijan.

The fuel imports to Georgia is as follows:

Russia - 176.0 thousand tonnes (35.3%);

Romania - 90.2 thousand tonnes (18.1%);

Azerbaijan - 88.8 thousand tonnes (17.8%);

Turkmenistan - 50.3 thousand tonnes (10.1%);

Bulgaria - 36.6 thousand tonnes (7.4%);

Greece - 21.4 thousand tonnes (4.3%);

Kazakhstan - 20.3 thousand tonnes (4.1%);

Turkey - 9.1 thousand tonnes (1.8%);

United Arab Emirates - 1.5 thousand tonnes (0.3%);

Austria - 1.3 thousand tonnes (0.3%);

Switzerland - 1.1 thousand tonnes (0.2%);

Singapore - 1.0 thousand tonnes (0.2%);

Hong Kong - 0.2 thousand tonnes (0.1%).

Notably, in January-June 2020, the total volume of imports of petrol and diesel to Georgia equaled 497.9 thousand tonnes, which is 3.6 thousand tonnes or 0.7% more than in the same period in 2019 (494, 3 thousand tonnes).
