In April 2021, Azerbaijan supplied 7.3 thousand tonnes of bitumen to Georgia, the Union of Oil Importers of Georgia reports.

A total of 93.6% of bitumen imported to Georgia in April was from Azerbaijan and 0.5 thousand tonnes - from Turkmenistan (6.4% of total imports).

As the Union of Petroleum Product Importers of Georgia says, in April 2021, imports of petroleum bitumen to Georgia amounted to 7.8 thousand tonnes, which is 2.8 thousand tonnes or 56% more than in March 2021 (5.0 thousand tonnes).

In January-April of this year, Azerbaijan exported about 39,666 tonnes of oil bitumen. According to the State Customs Committee, the cost of oil bitumen in this volume amounted to USD 7.15 million. During the reporting period, the share of petroleum bitumen in the country's total exports amounted to 0.11%.

In January-March 2020, Azerbaijan exported about 28 thousand tonnes of oil bitumen worth $ 4.667 million.

In January-March of this year, the production of oil bitumen in Azerbaijan decreased by 17.8%.

Azerbaijan is the largest supplier of bitumen for Georgia.
