In the first four months of the current year, Georgia purchased 609.1 thousand cubic meters of natural gas from Azerbaijan for $92.8 million.
As Geostat reports, this rate is 24.1% lower than in the same period of 2020.
In January-April 2021, the natural gas exports from Azerbaijan increased by 79.53%, while the cost - by 37.74%.
During the first four months of this year, Azerbaijan exported 7,837,583.3 cubic meters of natural gas.
Simultaneously, in January-April, the natural gas cost exported by Azerbaijan totaled 1,131,480.27 USD.
The share of natural gas in total exports of Azerbaijan totaled 17.78%.
The Azerbaijani State Oil Company (SOCAR) is the leading gas provider for Georgia. It also successfully exports gas to Turkey.
