Today, Georgian ambassador Zurab Pataridze met with leading Azerbaijani tour operators at the Embassy of Georgia. Head of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) Department Niyaz Hasanov, Director of the International Market Management at Azerbaijan Tourism Board Sevinj Zeynalli, and Chairman of Azerbaijan Association of Travel Agencies Rufat Hajiyev were also present at the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Georgian ambassador provided the guests with information on the agreements between the parties on the resumption of Baku-Tbilisi-Baku air flights from 19 March.
The Georgian ambassador laid special emphasis on the existing situation in the field of tourism, noting that the pandemic dealt a blow to it; however, the status quo in Georgia makes its revival feasible. According to him, recently reopened ski resorts and restaurants testify to this.
Mr. Pataridze mentioned that the vaccination process has already started in Georgia, and the situation here is changing for the better.
Additionally, the Georgian ambassador elaborated on the gov't's assistance programs for natural and legal persons involved in the field of tourism, different post-pandemic measures to improve the situation in the sector, the significance of furthering cooperation between the two countries in the field, and putting joint packages into effect.
Pataridze also declared that Georgia stands ready to host tourists from different countries worldwide, and he introduced the guests to the latest regulations visitors must adhere to.
A representative of the AZAL familiarized the meeting participants with the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku flight schedules, the regulations at the Baku International airport and onboard the plane.
At the end of the meeting, guests were gifted Georgian wine varieties.
