Capacity of South Caucasus Pipeline increases by 51%

The capacity of the South Caucasus Pipeline has increased by 51%. BP-Azerbaijan report reveals that in the first quarter, the design operating costs of the South Caucasus pipeline amounted to 13 million US dollars, which is 1 million US dollars or 8.3% more than in 2020. During this period, capital expenditures on the project amounted to $ 2 million, which is identical to last year’s data.

The average throughput of the pipeline was 50.74 million cubic meters of gas per day, 17.14 million cubic meters or 51% more than the first quarter of 2020.

The SCP has been operational since late 2006, transporting Shah Deniz gas to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey. In June 2018, the commercial gas supply to Turkey started.

The SCP Co. shareholders are: BP (28.8%), TPAO (19.0%), PETRONAS (15.5%), AzSCP (10.0%), NICO (10.0%), LUKOIL (10.0%) and SGC Midstream (6.7%).
