Commercial banks issue fewer loans in January

As reported by the National Bank of Georgia, the volume of the loans issued by commercial banks decreased by 3.01 million GEL (0.01%) in January 2020 than in January 2019.

The volume of the loans mentioned above reached 31.92 billion GEL on February 1, 2020.

The volume of the loans issued in the national currency increased by 10.45 million GEL, while the amount of the loans issued in foreign currency decreased by 13.46 million GEL.

By the end of January 2020, commercial banks had issued 4.54 billion GEL in national and 10.69 billion GEL – in foreign currency.

The larization index included 44.66% on February 1, 2020.
