In January-June 2020, Russia imported the most considerable volume of petrol and diesel to Georgia, as the amount equaled 176.0 thousand tonnes, i.e., 35.3% of total imports, the Union of Oil Importers of Georgia told report.ge.

Romania and Azerbaijan ranked second and third, respectively, among the three top importers of fuel to Georgia.

The list of fuel importers is as follows:

Russia - 176.0 thousand tonnes (35.3%)

Romania - 90.2 thousand tonnes (18.1%)

Azerbaijan - 88.8 thousand tonnes (17.8%)

Turkmenistan - 50.3 thousand tonnes (10.1%)

Bulgaria - 36.6 thousand tonnes (7.4%)

Greece - 21.4 thousand tonnes (4.3%)

Kazakhstan - 20.3 thousand tonnes (4.1%)

Turkey - 9.1 thousand tonnes (1.8%)

United Arab Emirates - 1.5 thousand tonnes (0.3%)

Austria - 1.3 thousand tonnes (0.3%)

Switzerland - 1.1 thousand tonnes (0.2%)

Singapore - 1.0 thousand tonnes (0.2%)

Hong Kong - 0.2 thousand tonnes (0.1%)

Notably, in January-June 2020, the total volume of fuel and diesel imports to Georgia equaled 497.9 thousand tonnes.

The rate is 3.6 thousand tonnes or 0.7% more than it was in the same period in 2019 (494, 3 thousand tonnes).
