Diesel fuel production fell by 1.7% in Azerbaijan

In January-March 2021, diesel production has fallen in Azerbaijan by 1.7%, Report. az informs, referring to the State Statistical Committee.

Azerbaijan produced petroleum products worth AZN 810.3 million, which is 13% less than a year ago.

During the reporting period, 247,400 tonnes of gasoline, 550,500 tonnes of diesel fuel, 15,300 tonnes of lubricants, 44,900 tonnes of petroleum bitumen were produced.

The gasoline production decreased by 28 %, diesel production – by 1.7%, petroleum bitumen – by 17.8%, while lubricant production rose by 2.3-fold.

During the first three months, the country produced 108,000 tonnes of gasoline for the petrochemical industry (+64.9%), 103,500 tonnes of kerosene (-29.4%), 8,900 tonnes of tons of fuel oil (-67.8%), and 64,900 tonnes of petroleum coke (+9.3%).

Azerbaijan proves to be the largest provider of diesel fuel in Georgia. In 2020, Georgia imported 214.9 thousand tonnes (19.4%) of diesel fuel from Azerbaijan, 44.7 thousand tonnes (26.3%) more than in 2019. The Union of Oil Product Importers of Georgia has provided Report News Agency with this information.
