As Georgian Economic Minister Natia Turnava stated, Georgia's ports are no longer sufficient to receive freights, and it means that Georgia's hub is competitive.

According to Turnava, Georgia may need more than one port.

''I heard the statement made by former Anaklia investor, saying Georgia does not need more than one deep port. The statement lacks confidence, as they failed to build the one port they had planned to. Thus, we are waiting for the proposals,'' Turnava said, adding the Anaklia Port remains the main priority to the government.

Turnava says that the coastal regions of Georgia and port infrastructure require development.
