Economic Minister says government gives 'green light' to business

"The government manages the coronavirus-related challenges and gives the green light to business to develop and employ people," Georgian Economic Minister Natia Turnava stated at the NOVA (construction and renovation materials) mega centers opening ceremony.

In her words, the government aims to encourage the local industry as it is vital in the aftermath of the pandemic.

Turnava underlined that the NOVA production is supported by the government program 'Produce in Georgia.'

''In general, we will further focus on supporting the industries that rely on our resources," Turnava said, adding the construction materials industry enables Georgia to reduce its dependence on imports.

"I can reiterate the same on the food industry, agricultural processing industry, and other fields, but the construction materials industry is one of the distinct," Turnava said.

The NOVA company has 430 employees in its exhibition rooms and storage, while 120 people work in Tbilisi and Batumi trade centers.

The project of the two new mega-centers was carried out with the support of EBRD and TBC Bank. A total of three million GEL was spent on the mega centers.
