As Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia says, the government will start lifting economic restrictions next week that will require three phases.

The first phase will begin on April 27, and the government will lift a ban on the movement by cars. It will open agrarian markets.

The following business facilities may resume operation during the second phase:

  • Construction,
  • Construction surveillance,
  • Production of construction materials
  • Car wash facilities
  • Renovation of computers and home appliances
  • Recreation zones

The third phase includes the opening of retail and wholesale shops, except malls.

Open markets, enterprises and publishing facilities will also open during the third phase.

Gakharia does not rule out some restrictions to continue for years due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The Georgian government presented an anti-crisis plan today and offered assistance to both natural and legal entities.

The government plans to spend 3,5 billion GEL for crisis management.

The Georgian government will provide commercial banks with 600 million GEL.
