Exports of wine from Georgia increased by 11%

According to statistics, about 75.6 million bottles (0.75 liters) of wine were exported to 53 countries from Georgia in January-October of current year.

According to the National Wine Agency of Georgia, this number is 11% higher than in 2018. Exported wine in total made $ 195 million, which is 20% more than in 2018.

The National Wine Agency explains that exports have increased in the US, UK, Poland and China.

The top ten wine exporting countries are Russia, Ukraine, China, Poland, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Latvia, the US, Lithuania and Estonia.

23.8 million bottles of brandy were exported to 23 countries from Georgia in period of January-October, while 521.7 thousand bottles of chacha (grape vodka) were exported to 27 countries.

The total amount of exported alcohol amounted to $ 284 million.
