ADY Container LLC, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways, has launched a container train from China to Azerbaijan. The train carries a 40-foot 50-piece container. The cargo left Qingdao (China) and will arrive in Baku. The freight will get to the port of Baku from the port of Kazakhstan, Aktau. Fifteen containers will be sent to Tbilisi.
The project is implemented in cooperation with KTZ Express, a Transcaucasian International Transport Consortium member, ADY Container LLC, and GR Logistics and Terminals.
By the end of 2021, ADY Container LLC plans to transport up to 50 containers through China-Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan has also carried out exports via the BTK. In 2020, ADY Express Ltd., a subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways, transported a total of 49,739 tonnes of export-oriented cargo on the BTK railway in 2020, out of which 97% was transit cargo and 3% imported. In 2019, the company transported a total of 25,722 tonnes.
