The former ropeway building located in the Mziuri Park will be transformed into a modern art space.
The author of the project is "Context Cube." Tbilisi City Hall carries out rehabilitation of the building and other works. The project aims to integrate contemporary art into the public space through a multimedia platform to create a cultural dialogue between different social groups and organize and promote educational and cultural events, as well as create a working environment for artists and researchers working in the field of contemporary art.
Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of the capital, inspected the reconstruction works today. As part of the rehabilitation, the building will retain its appearance and will be functionally used. A modern art gallery will be arranged in the ropeway building.
"We have started another project in Mziuri Park. Last year, we completed rehabilitation and promised the residents that this building - the former ropeway, which was in the worst condition for years, would be repaired and restored. The place was full of garbage, but today it is cleaned, and the project is being implemented. It will be a modern gallery. I want to thank Ana Goguadze for supporting this project and Mziuri Park.
Ana was involved from the beginning. It is very nice that the project will be completed in April, and the public will have the opportunity to use this space," Kakha Kaladze stated.
Along with the Tbilisi Mayor, the Deputy Mayor Irakli Bendeliani and Andria Basilaia, as well as the Head of the Infrastructure Development Service of the Tbilisi City Hall, Giorgi Abutidze, were present on the spot.
