As the Georgian Economic Ministry reports, freight turnover increased in the transport hubs of Georgia in January – November 2019.

38.1 tonnes of cargo was transported in the period above. The rate exceeds the 2018 data with 1 million tonnes.

The volume of freights processed in the ports and terminals reached 15.8 million tonnes that exceed the 2018 rate with 2 million tonnes.

The total volume reached 584 879 TEU units in January-November 2019. The growth is 41.7%.

According to the Economics Ministry, the number of processed containers in 2019 exceeds the 2018 rate that was 453 938 TEU units.

The civil aviation shipped 22.8 million tonnes of freight in January-November 2019. The volume lags behind the same indicator of 2018 (with 543.49 tonnes and 2.14%).

According to the Economics Ministry, the number of freights transported via railway also increased and reached 9.8 million tonnes in January-November, 2019, exceeding the 2018 data with 0.8 million tonnes.

The volume of the cargo processed in Poti port has also increased.
