As Head of the Union of Oil Importers, Vano Mtvralashvili says, the increase in the [fuel] prices in international markets has led to 0.30 GEL jump of the price at Georgia's unbranded petrol stations, while the rise teetered between 0.05 – 0.08 GEL at Georgia's branded refueling stations.
Mtvralashvili says the change has taken place for a month and a half.
In his words, international prices have been high on oil products, petrol, and diesel for the last two months.
''We saw a considerable drop in the oil price due to the [novel coronavirus] pandemic before the middle of May, but, later, economic restrictions were lifted and the trade averagely resumed,'' he said, adding OPEC countries had agreed to reduce daily quotas and prices start increasing.
