Adjara Textile company located in Batumi started the production of medical masks. Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister, observed the production process. He says that the local production development is essential, especially on the background of the situation created in the world by the medical masks’ deficiency.
Giorgi Gakharia said the enterprise employs 3200 people.
Six Georgian companies have produced a million of masks within the two-weeks. Two more companies are added to this sector, starting from Monday. The Prime Minister believes these companies will fully meet the demand of the local market.
The medical masks produced locally will first of all be distributed among the population over 70 for free; then among the health sector workers, patrol police, customs officers, and the food supermarkets staff. The next step will supply the drug stores for sale.
