As the weekly review of TBC Capital reports, Georgia's annual GDP decline may drop in the following months.

The organization experts project this following the current economic trends.

"Following the preliminary data, after a decrease in annual terms of 16.6% in April, net GDP declined by 13.5% in May. The decline was detected in all sectors of the economy,'' the research reports.

''By the end of May, the introduced restrictions introduced mitigated and led to an improvement in the GDP decrease compared to April,'' the study reads.

''The lift of restrictions also lasted in June, and most sectors resumed operation. In the coming months, experts project that the GDP decline in annual terms will drop more,'' the review reads.

In May 2020, the Georgian economy dropped by 13.5%.

The growth of real GDP was negatively affected by a decrease in the turnover of VAT-payer enterprises by 22.2% and a decline in exports.
