Around 15 km section of the Sagarejo-Udabno-Davit Gareja highway is being subjected to rehabilitation, Report News Agency informs, referring to the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure. 

Within the framework of the project, the damaged and potholed road will be entirely rehabilitated with all necessary efforts carried out to do so. Artificial structures and traffic signs are also planned to be installed and pedestrian zone determined. 

GEL 6.4 mln has been allocated for the project, which is expected to be fully implemented in the summer of 2021.

The state agency says that the road section to be rehabilitated is located in Sagarejo municipality, Georgia's Kakheti region. It starts 12 km away from Sagarejo and ends in the Udabno village. The additional 3 km road section is also planned to be coated with asphalt cement. The rehabilitation of 13.4 know section of the Sagarejo-Udabno-Davit Gareja highway was completed in 2020. This section stretches from the Udabno village to the Davit Gareja Monastery Complex.
