Gennady Arveladze: Georgian product export to Europe increases

“As a result of DCFTA successful agreement and effective implementation, the export volume of Georgian products has essentially increased,” said Gennady Arveladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, during the meeting with media representatives.

According to him, before the Agreement came into force, the export of Georgian products to Europe represented sixty-five percent of total export, while today, this indicator increased to eighty-nine percent. He also noted that aiming at the process popularization, it is important to provide the target audience with the information on profitability and opportunities of the mentioned Agreement. In this matter, the government relies on media support and partnership.

“It is essential to raise awareness of the society about DCFTA. Aiming at it, we, together with the donor organizations, are permanently providing information to the target groups, small and medium-size business representatives about the program. In this, the media is our strategic partner and should possess the full information about the DCFTA current status and process. At the same time, the format that we propose is twice useful,” – said Gennady Arveladze.

The meeting between the Ministry and media representatives was organized in the framework of the European Union Project “Supporting the Implementation of the Association Agreement – II phase.”
