The Georgia – Azerbaijan business forum was held on March 5, 2020, as organized by the EU-Georgia Business Council.

Georgian First Deputy Minister of Economy Ekaterine Mikabadze, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Dursun Hasanov, BP Georgia Director Ann Davies, SOCAR Energy Georgia Director-General Mahir Mammadov and officials from other partner companies attended the event.

The forum aims to develop mutual business relationships between Georgia and Azerbaijan.

The EU-Georgia Business Council and AZEBI (Azerbaijani Business Association) signed a deal of collaboration.

The signatories of the document are AZEBI Director Nariman Gurbanov and EU-Georgia Business Council Chairman Zviad Chumburidze.

Under the deal, the business associations will facilitate the economic development of Georgia and Azerbaijan, organize various projects, hold meetings and workshops.

''We will collaborate in all directions both in Tbilisi and in Baku. We will permanently hold meetings,'' EU-Georgia Business Council Head Zviad Chumburidze said.

The parties held presentations and spoke about cooperation prospects and advantages.

According to Zviad Chumburidze, Azerbaijan is not only a strategic partner but a country with exceptional abilities.

The event organizer plans to conduct the forum annually.

The EU-Georgia Business Council will hold the forum in Baku, Azerbaijan, in 2021.
