Georgia, Azerbaijan to hold business forum annually

As the EU-Georgia Business Council reports, Georgia and Azerbaijan will hold a business forum annually.

Business Council Project Assistant Medea Laskhkia says that the parties announced the regular business forums on a business meeting held on March 5, 2020.

Following the plan, the forum will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, no later than May 2021.

The regular Georgia-Azerbaijan business forums are an initiative of the EU-Georgia Business Council.

The Azerbaijani party accepted the idea.

Azerbaijani business associations say the relationship will result in success for the two countries' economic relationship and collaboration.

As Medea Laskhia declares, the business forum will help the Georgian and Azerbaijani businessmen to exchange information, establish business relations, or expand the existing business.

The idea of cooperation of the GEU-Georgia Business Council and Caspian European Club was raised on the March 5 business forum, and EUGBC and AZEBI (Business Association of Azerbaijani Businessmen) signed a collaboration deal.

''Free industrial zones may lead to more opportunities and cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan,'' Lashkhia says.

The sponsors of the first business forum were the general forum partners: BP, SOCAR, Energy Georgia, and Pasha Bank, as well as partners: Kulevi Oil Terminal, Embawood, Hualing Kutaisi, Free Industrial Zone, and Luca Polare.
