In the first three months of 2021, Georgia bought 464.9 million kWh of electricity from Azerbaijan and sold 8.6 million kWh of electricity. Azerbaijan generated 6 billion 924.9 million kWh of electricity in January-March.

The production in the Thermal Power Stations (TPS) dropped 59.1 million kWh to 6,604 million kWh, in Water Power Stations (WPS) grew by 15.69 million kWh to 236.09 million kWh, in other sources (WPP, SPP და BZSTBO) fell by 4.7 million kWh to 84.9 million kWh. Wind Power Stations produced 22.56 million kWh of energy, Solar Power Stations – 9.2 million kWh, and Solid waste incineration plant – 53.14 million kWh.

In January-March 2021, the electricity imports in Azerbaijan made up 32.1 million kWh, 8.2 million kWh got imported from Iran, 15.3 million kWh from Russia, 8.6 million kWh from Georgia.

As for the three-month export of electricity from Azerbaijan, the export of electricity from the country for three months increased by 25.9 million kWh compared to the same period last year, amounting to 509 million kWh. Of this, 8.3 million kWh of electricity got exported to Iran, 12.7 million kWh to Turkey, 23.1 million kWh to Russia, and 464.9 million kWh to Georgia.

In March 2021, Azerbaijan generated 2 billion 364.3 million kWh of electricity, which is 65.8 million kWh more than in the same period last year. According to the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan, in March, the export of electricity from Azerbaijan amounted to 175.1 million kWh, imports amounted to 11 million kWh.
