The National Forest Agency of Georgia plans to change timber harvesting practices.

Social cutting will stop. The agency will organize logging, sorting, and storage of wood in the so-called "Business yards."

The new Forest Code of Georgia already shows the change.

The new code aims to establish sustainable and multi-purpose forest management, preserve and protect forest ecosystems, and the reasonable use of social and economic benefits.

On the initiative of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia, the so-called "Business yards" are organized in almost all regions of the country.

By the end of 2020, 26 "business yards" will be ready across Georgia.
