"Russia is gearing up to build a new deep-sea port on its Black Sea coast and Georgia must play a key strategic role”, Levan Akhvlediani, the Director of the Anaklia Development Consortium, said in the Parliament.
According to Akhvlediani, this is why there is great interest from partners in the Anaklia project.
“There is a huge interest from our Western partners in this project. Our partners and our neighboring countries in Central Asia cannot and should not depend solely on the Russian corridor. That is why Anaklia is the project that will create and establish Georgia as a credible alternative to the Russian corridor”, Akhvlediani said.
