Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava held a video conference with Acting Minister of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania, Energy Minister Zygimantas Vaiciunas.
The Lithuanian Ministry of Economy and Innovation also manages the tourism sector.
The parties discussed priority areas of mutual economic collaboration. They emphasized the resumption of tourism relations amid the post-epidemic period.
The parties remarked that Georgia made considerable progress in preventing the novel coronavirus outbreak, and the efficient government measures allowed Georgia to boast being one of the first countries lifting tourism restrictions.
The parties emphasized the importance of creating a safe corridor and travel protocols, which is a prerequisite for the resumption of cooperation between countries and the recovery of direct flights.
The officials said that the Wizz Air airline company is ready to resume scheduled flights between Vilnius and Kutaisi that remain suspended for the pandemic.
