Georgia was named as the Tourist Destination of the Year at Helsinki tourism exhibition-market MATKA 2020 yesterday.
The target market of the exhibition includes the Nordic and Baltic states.
The Georgian Tourism Administration has taken part in the event for the third time.
At the general presentation stand, there are nine companies and organizations available this year:
- Adjara Tourism and Resorts Department,
- Adjara Tour LLC,
- Georgia in Contact,
- Caucasus Travel,
- World Express,
- Georgian Travel Group,
- Voyage Tours,
- APG,
- Iberia Tours Plus.
About 80,000 visitors attend the exhibition with 22,500 tourism field professionals from 86 countries.
As reported by the National Tourism Administration, Finnish tourists' number increased by 17.7% compared with 2018.
