Live sheep are exported from Georgia mainly to Arab countries. In 2020, the main exporting countries were Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan.

By 2020, sheep and goat exports are as follows:

1) Saudi Arabia - $ 13 million;

2) Azerbaijan - $ 5.8 million;

3) Kuwait - $ 1.2 million;

4) Qatar - $ 0.4 million;

5) Oman - $ 0.1 million dollars.

Coronavirus has disrupted the sheep export from Georgia, but it has increased in annual terms. Last year, in 2020, 194 thousand units of sheep and goats were exported from the country, which is 26% more than the previous year. Last year, Georgia earned $ 20.5 million from live sheep exports. It is 6.8 million more than the same figure in 2019.

The average export price of one sheep is $105.9, or GEL 348.
