Over ten years, Georgia exported natural honey to Azerbaijan in 2012, 2018, and 2020. In 2018, the highest amount of Georgian honey (17,70 tonnes) was sold in Azerbaijan, out of which Georgia received $ 40,55 thousand.
Last year, honey exports reduced dramatically (0.20 tonnes only) after the pandemic hit the world.
However, despite the global pandemic, Georgia has seen a 240% upward trend in natural honey exports.
During the pandemic, Georgia sold honey in 12 countries, with the list of the countries presented below:
- Italy - 10 tonnes
- the USA - 4,89 tonnes
- Bulgaria - 2,83 tonnes
- Canada - 1,81 tonnes
- Qatar - 123 tonnes
