Head of the National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission of Georgia Davit Narmania presented an annual report on the commission's operation.

Following the report, Georgia's internal power consumption increases annually by 4.4% on average.

At the same time, electricity production decreases, and imports increase, the report says.

Under the 2019 data, the share of imported electricity increased by 7.8% compared to 2018.

Besides, electricity imports exceeded exports 6.7 times.

In 2019, the demand for natural gas increased by 15% and equaled 2.5 billion cubic meters.

As for the water supply sector, the number of subscribers using water meters increases.

Simultaneously, the average consumption of one subscriber with a household meter increased by 1.1%, and the regular use by commercial subscribers dropped by 7.8%.
