As reported by the National Statistics Office of Georgia, the average monthly number of 15 and older local visitors reached 887.2 thousand in Georgia, while the number of visits conducted by them was one million.
The number of visitors is 3.4% less than it was in the first quarter of 2019.
The average number of tourist visits implemented by Georgia's residents equaled 430.2 per month, and the number is 8.6% less than it was in 2019.
In the first quarter of 2020, 37.7% of the visitors belonged to people of 31 to 50.
The number of women was 53.9% of the total visitors.
Following the data, 32.1% of the visitors are from Tbilisi, while 15.0% - in Imereti, Racha – Lechkhumi, and Kvemo Svaneti, 11.5% - Kvemo Kartli and the rest –are from the other regions.
In the first quarter of 2020, the aim of most of the visits was mainly to see friends/relatives (53.5%).
Tbilisi hosted most of the visitors (about 305.1 thousand visits per month) and the Imereti region (178.5 thousand visits per month).
A total of 55.1% of the visitors are satisfied by the visits across Georgia, while 29,9% are delighted.
The volume of average monthly expenses was 127.2 mln GEL in the first quarter of 2020.
