Tomorrow, March 25, 2020, the National Bank of Georgia will sell 40 million USD at the auction to help the national currency Lari gain value.
The bank officials say the Georgian financial system met the economic challenges well, as the banking sector is healthy and sustainable.
As reported by the bank employees, the Georgian economy will recover soon after the pandemic passes.
''The National Bank is working intensively to minimize the coronavirus-caused negative outcomes,'' the official statement released by the bank says.
An intervention planned for tomorrow will be the third attempt by the National Bank to help Georgian currency stabilize.
The bank sold 40 million USD on March 19 and 20 million GEL – on March 13.
1 USD costs 3.4900 GEL on Bloomberg at the moment.
