As the preliminary data of the National Statistics Office of Georgia show, in Jan – Apr 2020, the milk production reached 107.0 mln liter in Georgia, which is 5% more than the rate in Jan – Apr 2019.

As the Statistics Officer reports, the meat production decreased by 0.6% and equaled 16.2 thousand tonnes, while the egg production rose by 0.6% and hit 160.5 mln in the same period.

The number of cattle heads increased by 1.9% and reached 973.5 by the end of the 2020 first quarter.

The total number of sheep and goats decreased by four percent and equaled 1.1 million heads.

The number of pigs hit 168.3 thousand heads, being 3.7% less than the 2019 first-quarter data.

The number of hens reached 10.3 mln as it increased by 28.7%.
