As the National Statists Office of Georgia reports, in the first quarter of 2020, the average monthly nominal salary increased by 10.1% or 110.0 GEL in Georgia.

The increased salary equaled 1,202.7 GEL.

In Jan - Apr 2020, almost all sectors observed salary growth. By type of activity, relatively high wages were in the industries given below:

Finances and insurance - 2 596.4 GEL (+ 37.1%)

Information and communication - 1 887.9 GEL (+ 7.8%)

Professional, scientific and technical activities - 1 794.8 GEL (-0.2%)

Construction - 1 703.0 GEL (+ 9.5%).

In the first quarter of 2020, the average salary of women was 960.4 GEL, and men's salary reached 1,423.9 GEL. The growth was 84.3 GEL and 129.8 GEL, respectively.

In the first quarter of 2020, the average salary of the business sector employees increased by 75.2 GEL and reached 1,227.0 GEL.

In Jan - Apr 2020, the average monthly salary in the non-profit and financial sector grew by 168.1 GEL compared to the same period in 2019 and equaled 1,161.2 GEL.
