Head of the Union of Oil Importers, Vano Mtvralashvili says the strict lockdown measures will negatively influence the import rate, as consumption is too low in April.

In his words, decreased international price encouraged imports amid strict quarantine, and the companies accumulated abundant supplies, adding the data on the import rates will be available in May.

''The import dynamics will further drop,'' he says.

As reported by the union, in the first quarter of 2020 the fuel and diesel imports to Georgia equalled 244,4 thousand tonnes.
