As Head of National Tourism Administration of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili says, by hosting the IBT Berlin exhibition-market, Georgia will enjoy the €37 million PR and marketing support from the event organizers.

According to her, Georgia will have access to more than one billion people.

''We expect the tourism to increase by 130% after Georgia operates as the exhibition host,'' Kvrivishvili said.

''The host status is a signal to the whole world that Georgia is one of the best tourist countries. The exhibition sends a message to the world that Georgia is an interesting and attractive destination for tourists,'' the Tourism Department reports.

Since 2007, about 15 countries hosted the exhibition, including India, Germany, Turkey, Poland, and others.

As reported by the Department, Georgia passed hard contest stages before becoming the exhibition host.

''An inspection process preceded the decision, as in April 2019 IBT Berlin officials visited Georgia and assessed tourism products, infrastructure, and hotels,'' the Tourism Department reports.

Georgia will receive €37 million image support, including online media service (15 million EUR), TV and radio coverage (3,200.00 EUR), and the service in printed media of 19 million EUR value.

More than 200,000 visitors attend the ITB Berlin annually.
