Georgia to reconsider its agreement with Gazprom

The government will reconsider the existing agreement with PJSC Gazprom to reduce the natural gas prices, according to the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava.

"Against this backdrop, when the competition is getting stiffer and oil product prices are falling worldwide, we plan to reconsider the contract with Gazprom to cut gas prices. I am not entitled to name precise numbers, but I can say that gas prices will fall by around 15%. Today, this market is very competitive and prices are gradually dropping on it. SOCAR and Gazprom are both following this trend. If the necessity for this emerges, prices will go even lower," Turnava said.
