In April 2020, the export rate of Georgian goods decreased by 27.9%, the National Statistics Office of Georgia reports.

Last month the export value amounted to 223.2 million USD, being 27.9% less than in April 2019.

In Jan – Apr 2020, the volume of Georgian exports amounted to one billion USD, i.e., 11.9% less than the same period in 2019.

The exports of seven out of ten key export commodities dropped:

1. Copper ores and concentrates - 215.6 million USD (+ 10.4%)

2. Cars - 134.8 million USD (-12.4%)

3. Ferroalloys - 91.8 million USD (-21.7%);

4. Natural grape wines - 55.5 million USD (-12.5%);

5 Mineral and fresh waters - 37.3 million USD (-8.7%);

6. Nitrogen fertilizers - 36.4 million USD (-16.5%);

7. Ores and concentrates of precious metals - 31.9 million USD (in 2019 the goods were not exported);

8. Alcoholic drinks- 31.3 million USD (-3.2%);

9. Gold - 29 million USD (+ 38.1%);

10. Medicines in packages - 28 million USD (-61.5%);

11. The rest of exported goods amounted to a total of 308.9 million USD (-21.9%).
